Max Verstappen has gained many plaudits during his time in Formula 1 and David Coulthard is the latest name to give him some high praise describing him as a "breathe of fresh air".
Verstappen enjoyed his best season in the pinnacle of motorsport last year as he secured three race wins which included a bit of redemption at the Brazilian Grand Prix. Last season he was able to mix his aggressive racing style with a bit more consistency and composure to ensure he finished third in the Drivers' Championship.
David Coulthard is aware of the pressures that come with being a driver at Red Bull from his spell there between 2005 and 2008. The Brit wants to see the Dutch driver really challenge for the World Championship and praised his approach to racing.
"I would love to see Max really challenge for the championship," Coulthard said in an interview on Welt.
"He's got speed, he's got commitment, he's got a young devil may care attitude.

"I think he's a breathe of fresh air because he's also very open, very honest and not kind of aloof in standing off so I think he'll make a great champion."
