For Christian Horner, the Formula 1 season is over after the team boss of Red Bull Racing was dismissed this week. However, he might be back in the sport soon, at least if Sky Sports is correct.

The British broadcaster reports that Horner has reached an agreement with Red Bull on the duration of his gardening leave - the amount of time he'll be unable work for another employer. According to Sky Sports, this is until the end of this year. By the start of 2026, Horner could then theoretically join another F1 team.

Discussions on contract settlement ongoing

Whether this report is accurate remains uncertain. There has not been (yet) an agreement reached on the terms of Horner's departure. GPblog previously reported that the former team boss wants his full salary paid until the end of 2030, a sum of about 50 million dollars. That might be too much for Red Bull.
In the coming period, lawyers from Red Bull and Horner will undoubtedly try to reach an agreement, and then it will also be finally determined when Horner can start a new job.
