Carlos Sainz had to abandon the race early for the third time this season in Azerbaijan. Within ten laps he suffered from brake problems, after which he parked his car along the side. Afterwards, he reacted logically disappointed in front of the camera of Sky Sports.
Sainz started the race from fourth position and managed to keep it until his retirement. "It's a shame because I took a lot of care with my tyres in the first 9 laps and had a little bit of a gap to have some fresh air on the tyres and I was about to start my race and start pushing," the Spaniard explained.

Disaster weekend for Ferrari in Baku

Ferrari didn't only have to deal with problems on Sainz's car, as Charles Leclerc also had to drop out. It left the Italian racing team without a driver on the track at the end of the race and allowed Ferrari to focus early on the next race in Canada.
"The team knows this and we know taht we need to improve. On my side, we have been unlucky it's hard to get momentum on my side. You need laps to understand the car and I had 9. It's a shame. We are a team and we are going to stay united because better day will come."
