According to Christian Horner, there is no man overboard now that Max Verstappen has missed out on pole for the United States Grand Prix. The Red Bull Racing team boss saw a small mistake by Verstappen just punished.
For a while it looked like Verstappen would succeed after all. Max had been fastest all day in America, but in Q3 things did not go quite smoothly. The Dutchman first had a collision with his teammate and then drove over the track limits on his fastest lap.

Horner still sees Verstappen winning

''Yeah it looked like we had the pole and then unfortunately by that much. A small lock up at turn one put Maax on the back foot. So he had to give it absolutely everything. He tried, but unfortunately we didn't quite do it today, but it makes for an interesting race on Sunday'' said the Red Bull Racing team boss at Viaplay.
''It's not easy to get that one lap and then the long run, have the car perfect across all spectrums. It was a shame we didn't get that last lap. He would have got the pole. He hasn't. So starting P6, we've got a bit of work to do.'' Asked if Horner still sees chances of victory, he is clear: ''I mean, it's harder, but there's always an opportunity.''
