The winning driver's car will be lifted onto the podium at the Mexican Grand Prix this weekend to join its driver in the celebrations. A lift has been built to move the car from parc ferme to the podium in a bizarre move, but it will certainly look cool to have the car up there as well!
Mexico is known for its bizarre podium celebration, and a hidden platform has been built below the podium, which overlooks the stadium section.
Whilst the podium drivers are in post race interviews, the winning car will be pushed to the platform and elevated to the podium level, with the driver in the car.
The drivers finishing second and third will arrive as usual from behind the podium, and the winner will come up in their car on the platform.
It's all safe so don't worry, it's been tested using a Williams and a mechanic standing in as the driver. Might be as close a Williams gets to a podium in the next however many races...
