Max Verstappen’s competitors shared how much of a chance the Dutchman has against the McLarens to win his fifth world title. Drivers were asked to grade Max Verstappen’s chances for the world title ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix
"I mean, there's a chance. So more than zero," Lando Norris, who is 44 points ahead of the Dutchman began.
Esteban Ocon then continued:
"I mean, we all know Max and how dangerous he is when there's something to grab. So yeah, there's a good chance that if he's got a competitive car until the end of the year, he can catch back." It was
George Russell who first said a number.
"100%," the Briton laughed.
Leclerc, Hadjar and Albon all reveal their numbers
"I think I'll say 20%," Charles Leclerc began in the second group.
"I feel like we've been on tracks [that’s] low downforce, Monza Baku, where the Red Bull was very strong.
"I expect the McLaren to come back to the pace we've seen for most of the season here and at some other future tracks.
"I see it very unlikely (for Verstappen to win the title), but we never know. Obviously, they (Red Bull) brought an upgrade in Monza which seems to be working very much, but whether it will work on high-downforce tracks, I don't think enough to beat the McLaren," the Ferrari driver said.
"Well explained," Isack Hadjar continued.
"I definitely agree with what he said." However, the Racing Bulls driver would give a lower number. "I would say 10%. 10% is still a good number."
It was then Alex Albon's turn. The former Williams driver concluded: "I'll go 15%. I don't know you get one crash between Lando and Oscar and it's all game on. I don't know what the odds are at the bookies."

Verstappen on chances after Baku
Following back-to-back victories at Monza and Baku, Verstappen trails championship leader Oscar Piastri by 69 points in the standings.
In Azerbaijan,
the Dutchman commented:
"I don't rely on hope, but it's seven rounds left, and 69 points is a lot. So I personally don't think about it—I just take it race by race, which is what I’ve been doing basically the whole season: trying to do the best we can, trying to score as many points as possible. And then after Abu Dhabi, we'll know."GPblog's latest F1 Paddock Update video
