Red Bull Racing hope the Barcelona circuit can fit the RB21 in their battle against McLaren. According to team principal Christian Horner, this can play a crucial role this weekend. Max Verstappen has won the
Spanish Grand Prix the last three occasions the grid visited the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
"I think Barcelona is a proper workout — high-speed, medium-speed, not so much low-speed these days," Horner began about what the track offers.
He then explained what you need to be successful here. "But if you’ve got a good working chassis, then you’ll see that here, particularly with the range of corners and also how hard the car is on the tyres. That’s going to play a crucial role in the race on Sunday."
After the first day of the current weekend, four-time champion Max Verstappen said he had an 'okay Friday',
but the RB21 is still not where he would like it to be.
Top advisor Helmut Marko was more optimistic on the other hand, saying that this was one of Red Bull's best Fridays in some time.
Max Verstappen could benefit from a strong weekend The Dutchman is 25 points behind championship leader Oscar Piastri, while Lando Norris is 22 points ahead.
