Martin Brundle has phoned Christian Horner amid the rumors linking the ex-Red Bull Racing team principal to Ferrari. The Briton also believes the team needs to support each other instead of constant changes.
After Horner called working for Ferrari a 'dream' in an interview, rumors began to circulate about the ex-Red Bull boss taking over at the Italian outfit. GPblog then reported that there were no contacts with Ferrari regarding a potential appointment.
Ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia, Ferrari's headquarters also shared a statement, confirming their support of the Frenchman. "Ferrari has made its choices. We had confidence in Fred Vasseur and his team, and we continue to do so. At this moment, it is essential that the team remains united and cohesive, focusing all its energy on the work ahead."
Brundle phoned Horner
"Being a Ferrari driver or the Ferrari team principal is the best and worst job in F1 all at the same time because of the pressure and hero, zero curve is sometimes vertical as to whether you are amazing or useless. You have to navigate your way through that," Brundle began on Sky Sports about the Scuderia's situation.

He reached out to Horner as well. "There was a lot of talk of Christian Horner this week so I rang him and he said 'I was being polite and respectful about Ferrari in an interview and it took on a whole load...,'
"I mean could you imagine Lewis and Christian working together after 2021. That would be an interesting dynamic."
The former F1 driver also drew parallels to football, where sudden changes are made. Other than Toto Wolff, there is no team principal how took the helm of a team before the winter of 2022.
"There's no point to keep changing key personnel, you see it in football. The role of a team principal has also changed quite dramatically. They just need to stay calm and support each other," Brundle concluded.
