Mattia Binotto says the Ferrari drivers will be allowed to race during the 2020 F1 season despite a few issues cropping up between Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel over the last nine months.
A good deal of issues happened on the team radio through the 2019 season. And the politics reached a climax in Brazil when the two Ferrari teammates collided on track. Despite all of this, Binotto says the drivers can race in 2020.
“We had a rookie and an experienced driver. Based on the last races, they were free to fight and I think that will be the case from the start [in 2020]," Binotto reports to Sky Sports F1.
“Charles surprised everyone. He is very fast and has shown that he can handle the pressure during a season. He is strong in fighting and in races, so we are very happy with him. In my view, he has had an exceptional season. Seven pole positions and two victories in his first year, as well as finishing ahead of Sebastian in the championship."
