Carlos Sainz put in a strong performance at the
Monaco Grand Prix, but despite this he says he is still struggling in
Ferrari's F1-75. Team boss
Mattia Binotto is not worried about his driver and is confident that he will find his feet.
Binotto indicates that he has seen enough of Sainz at
Ferrari to know that it is not a question of if, but when he will find his feet in the new F1-75. For this reason, the team has not waited to extend the contract of the Spaniard, who is guaranteed a seat at the top team until the end of 2024.
Binotto believes in Sainz
The Ferrari team boss is convinced that Sainz is doing everything he can to find his form and that he will eventually succeed.
"That's the attitude of Carlos – studying the data, trying different driving styles, adapting himself. He will maybe take a bit of time, but he will get there," Binotto assured opposite
Formula1.com.
He adds that there are no issues with the driver. "Certainly, he needs to adapt by seeing that he has done a couple of mistakes, which are important. But nevertheless, I think that he is improving himself, he is going faster and faster," continued the Swiss-born Italian.
Moreover, it is the first time in Sainz's career that he is driving a car that can compete for the championship. Possibly he needs to get used to that as well, Binotto considers. However, he does not expect the driver to need much time for that. "I know how smart and how capable he is to manage the pressure," said the Ferrari team boss.
