Max Verstappen became Formula 1 world champion this year with Honda's engine. In the previous years there were often reliability issues, but in 2021 that was not the case. Marc Priestley looks ahead to 2022 and has high hopes for Verstappen's team.
During his live video on YouTube the F1 connoisseur is asked how good Red Bull's engine will be in 2022. The Brit seems to have faith in Honda. The engine supplier will continue to develop this season's material.
"I think it will be good. Essentially, it is still a Honda, it's the same engine. Honda are bringing a developed version of what they had this year. Presumably you'd hope their best ever engine", Priestley begins.

Priestley expects strong engine

Honda is leaving Formula 1 after this season, but will help Red Bull with the development of the engine in 2022. After that, the team will have to do it all themselves under the name Red Bull Powertrains.

"This year was a great engine. They're delivering something brand new to Red Bull before they then hang up their coats and off they go, out the door. So Red Bull should have a very, very strong engine next year", the Brit believes.
