Aston Martin gives Alonso a smile with working through the night

Aston Martin have broken the curfew to ensure both cars have the new update package for FP3. Fernando Alonso can now smile as a result.

Aston Martin proudly presented a completely new update package on Friday. The AMR24 had mainly undergone modifications to the floor, diffuser and top of the sidepod. A hefty upgrade for the team that hopes to enter the development battle with the top teams this year.

On Friday, only Lance Stroll was still driving this package, but on Saturday Fernando Alonso will also have it. His team was still working on the car outside curfew to ensure that both cars are equipped with the new update package. For Aston Martin, this is the first of two times in a season they have been allowed to work in the curfew and so no penalty followed.
