Lando Norris has expressed confidence in McLaren’s car pace despite a curtailed run during the second practice session of the Las Vegas Grand Prix. “I think we have a better feeling in the car than last year.”
- Lando NorrisThe McLaren driver, who spoke via Sky Sports following the session, acknowledged the tricky conditions of the track but expressed confidence in the overall pace of the car.
"It's always tricky here. I think we have a better feeling in the car than last year. That was felt on lap one. Some good feelings. Not a lot of running in the end, not really any high-fuel running, but the pace is there,” Norris said.
Further reflecting on his session, the drivers’ championship leader also admitted the field is tight ahead of the competitive sessions of the Vegas weekend.

"It's pretty tight between a lot of people, and many didn’t get their laps in. We made some steps forward from FP1 to FP2, and hopefully, we can do some more. We are fighting for pole,” he concluded.
Norris stormed to the top of the timing sheet during the second practice session on the Nevada streets. The Brit improved from the sixth place he recorded during the first session of the day.
Piastri left unsure about McLaren after Las Vegas FP2
While Norris is brimming with optimism, his teammate
Oscar Piastri was left puzzled after his FP2 outing.
The
Australian stated how difficult it is to determine the actual pace of the McLaren car due to the red flag, which cut short the FP2 running. Piastri was stuck in 14th place after the red flag incident during the free practice session.
