Fernando Alonso has revealed why he feels he is “a more complete pilot” after he retired from F1 to pursue other opportunities.
Alonso won the 2018 Le Mans 24 hr and he has also raced in the Indy 500 in 2017 as he aims to complete the triple crown after already winning the Monaco Grand Prix.
He has also recently piloted the Nascar of Jimmie Johnson elevating himself to a new point in his already prestigious career.
"It's difficult to know exactly your speed in the car.
“You can only rely on the numbers, and this year has been the best by far in terms of qualifying battles.

“So I feel that I am competitive and fast.
“Probably, after the test day with the Indycar and the WEC program this season, I feel better as a driver or a more complete driver.” Said Alonso to Motorsport.com.
He also said how he understands the actual car better as well his lap by lap performance.
“I understand better the behaviour of the cars, other driving techniques, different ways to save energy and tires.
“So I have more information from the outside, from the engineers, other points of view that, perhaps, make you better, or gives you a broader view of the races.” Added the Spaniard.
