Alexander Albon has raised 97,500 euros for an orphanage in Thailand. Speedweek reports that the Williams driver managed to raise the money through auctions. At the centre was the helmet Albon drove in Singapore.
Prior to the Singapore Grand Prix, Albon visited the Wat Sakreao orphanage in Thailand, the Williams driver's homeland. The children of that orphanage were allowed to design Albon's helmet for the Singapore race, which produced the result below.

"When I visited the orphanage earlier this year, I knew I had to do something. I wanted to give something back to the Thai community," Albon explains. "That's how I came up with the idea that children should design my helmet for the Singapore GP, the race closest to my homeland."
This helmet has since been auctioned, which together with some other donations raised a total of over 97 thousand euros. The money will be donated to the orphanage. "I was completely blown away that we were able to raise so much money," Albon said. "Many thanks to the generous donor who ended up buying the helmet."

'We could never have imagined how much support we would receive'

The campaign was done in collaboration with Iceman Charity, a charity run by Volker Capito, the brother of Albon's team boss Jost Capito. Capito has been supporting the orphanage for over 17 years and, like Albon, is moved by the success of the action. "When we brought Alex to Wat Sakreao in April, we wanted to give the children hope and inspiration. We could never have imagined how much support we would get. I can only thank everyone. They should know how much this means to the children and how much their lives can improve through generous donations."
