Also in the Belgian Ardennes, Red Bull Racing was hard to beat and consolidated its lead in the World Constructors' Championship. Before the weekend, many drivers were ready to talk about the sprint format used to finish the weekend in Belgium. Christijan Albers noticed something striking during such a sprint weekend.
"You know what I love about a sprint race always? Secretly, Red Bull is always a bit confused then. They do need a longer period to still get that optimum out of the car," the former Formula 1 driver told the Telegraaf Formula 1 podcast.

"The weather then causes a bit of a panic. Doubting whether to drive with a lot or little downforce. And then with the conditions in the rain, that does create a bit of a panic in certain teams. Then you notice that the field does get closer together when the weekend starts like this. The more kilometres Red Bull does on the track, the bigger the time difference becomes," Albers said.
Red Bull has already tallied more than 500 points in the current Formula 1 season. This is more than double that of number two in the rankings, Mercedes. Max Verstappen earned 314 of the 503 constructor points and teammate Sergio Perez has 189 points to his name.
