After Renault, is Ferrari also withdrawing from the protest against Racing Point?

Renault withdrew from the protest against Racing Point and Mercedes on Tuesday afternoon. This makes Ferrari the only team left, but for how long will this be the case?

This year Racing Point has copied a little more of the Mercedes from 2019 than it should have done and has obtained data for this from Mercedes. Nevertheless, Racing Point itself appealed against the penalty of 400,000 euros and 15 points, as opposed to the appeal made by Renault and Ferrari for having found the penalty to be too light.

However, Renault has withdrawn from the fight since Tuesday night and according to the Spanish Formula 1 journalist, Albert Fabrega, that is not at all surprising either. In fact, Renault's aim was to ban this type of copy from 2021, and that seems to be happening. According to Fabrega, we could soon have a directive from Formula 1 on this subject.

There is therefore a good chance that Ferrari, too, will drop the protest, leaving only Racing Point. However, if the Italians bury the hatchet, then, according to Fabrega, it is only logical that Racing Point, too, should resign itself to the decision. They can still drive the car now, but they will have to do it themselves in the future.
