Formula 1 was startled on Thursday when it became known that Sergio Perez had tested positive for COVID-19. It's the first time this happens to someone who actually bivouacs in the paddock. The fact that this is immediately a driver makes it an even more important story.
It's not the best PR for Formula 1, which tries to create a spotless paddock by testing extremely hard. Nevertheless, the sport together with the FIA also had good news to report this weekend.

More tests than last week

Last week, Perez was the only person found positive. It also means that the team members at Racing Point, who are all in the same bubble as Perez, were not lit by the Mexican.
Between Friday 24th July and Thursday 30th July, a total of 3909 tests were conducted, as the FIA states in their statement. That's a bit more than a week earlier, because there was no racing at that time.
