Abiteboul remains involved with Alpine with new advisor role

Cyril Abiteboul has found a place in motorsport again. The former Renault team boss stayed out of the spotlight for a while after he was sidelined by Renault, but still remains indirectly connected to the French team.

Abiteboul has been the Renault team boss for the last couple of years and was also supposed to fulfil that role under the new name of Alpine. At the last moment it became clear that Renault would choose another route and Abiteboul was pushed aside. The Frenchman has found a place in motorsport again.

Abiteboul is going to work for Mecachrome as an advisor. Mecachrome helps Renault develop the engine for the Alpine Formula 1 team, but is also an engine supplier for Formula 2, Formula 3 and several other racing classes. Mecachrome is happy to have the experienced Abiteboul on board.
