Max Verstappen recaptured the lead in the world championship on Sunday afternoon. It wasn't easy though, because Mercedes made a stronger impression during the Turkish Grand Prix. According to Peter Windsor there was more to it.

The Dutchman qualified in third place on Saturday, but due to the grid penalty incurred by his rival Lewis Hamilton he was allowed to start from second place. Thanks to an excellent performance by teammate Sergio Pérez Verstappen managed to keep Hamilton behind him and regain the lead. The final places do hide something though, says Windsor on his YouTube channel.

"There will be something wrong with Max's car or with the set of tyres because if Sergio Pérez is that much quicker on the second set and that much more confident compares with Max, suggests there was a major issue with Max's car. So he won't be happy about that," says Windsor, who also sees the positive side. "Of course you're happy when you finish a wet race and you haven't had any of the dramas that can come with it I suppose."

Hamilton's tyre change goes wrong

Mercedes made another high-profile decision at the end of the race by bringing Hamilton in for a tyre change. It meant the seven-time world champion moved from third to fifth place.
