This weekend the Dutch Grand Prix is on the program for the first time in 36 years. Under the watchful eye of tens of thousands of Dutch fans, Max Verstappen will try to win his home race.
Robert Doornbos was at the circuit on Thursday to see what the organisation has created in recent years. The analyst of Formula 1 Café was impressed by the new circuit which is filled with stands along the side. The builders even provided a similar arena to the one at the circuit in Mexico.
"In the Tarzan it's very impressive with the grandstands, but at the arena it looks like the fans are sitting on the track," Doornbos commented to the programme. "That reminds me of the time in America, where you have the Indianapolis 500. That's the biggest sporting event on earth where there are 280,000 spectators."

Nice experience for drivers

Doornbos therefore thinks that it will give the drivers goose bumps. "You have been practising without an audience for a month, and then on race day the place is completely full. People will be sitting so close to the circuit at that venue."
