Mick Schumacher makes his debut in Formula 1 this season, and where many debutants dream of points, podiums and victories, Schumacher remains realistic. He even states that zero points at the end of the year is no disgrace.

With Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin, Haas has two Rookies this season. The team has also chosen to focus on the 2022 car from the outset, leaving the 2021 season rather hopeless. The team has scored zero points so far, and it is not expected that things will be very different in the second half of the season.

Looking at Williams

''If we get points, then, of course, that would be a great bonus. That's what we're really hoping for. There will undoubtedly be some crazy race weekends coming up and hopefully, we can compete for points at those times. But it would not be a big drama if we would not score any points, because we knew beforehand that it would be a difficult year,'' Schumacher told Motorsport.com.

The German is therefore not focusing on points, but more on the competitors at Williams. ''In the beginning, I was mainly looking at Nicholas (Latifi) and later I started to measure myself more with George (Russell) and try to match his speed. I think this also helped me to progress and grow as a driver,'' concludes the son of Michael Schumacher.
