Ferrari made a very bad impression during the French Grand Prix. The Italians achieved pole position twice in recent weeks with Charles Leclerc, but on Sunday afternoon they didn't even manage to score points. Carlos Sainz is not happy about this.

The Spanish driver told in an interview with Motorsport.com that there is something structurally wrong with the team. "It became clear today that something has gone pretty wrong. We've been having problems with the front tyres for a few races, but today our tyre wear was twice that of all the other teams."

Sainz saw the problem coming. "On Saturday I was about three tenths faster than the McLaren drivers, but at the end of the race, they were just two seconds faster. It's clear that the tyre degradation is a limitation for us," stated the driver, who already saw that Ferrari were going to experience problems. "To be very honest, when I first got into the car in Bahrain I already felt that something was wrong."

Ferrari trailing in constructors' championship

Ferrari's lacklustre performance means McLaren is currently third in the Constructors' Championship. The team is currently sixteen points ahead of Ferrari, which scored 94 points.
