Leclerc still a proud Ferrari driver: "This is a family"

Charles Leclerc is starting his third season at Ferrari and for the young Monegasque, it is still a dream come true. He hopes that the difficult times are in the past and that Ferrari can once again compete for the prizes.

The 2020 season was one to forget for Ferrari. Leclerc managed to score two podiums, but otherwise, the Italian team was completely out of the game. Carlos Sainz is Leclerc's new teammate and together they hope to bring Ferrari back to the top. "We have worked hard, I hope all of this can be seen on the track," Sky Sport quoted the Monegasque.

"I hope the performance will be better, but we won't know how much until it's on the track. We hope to see the fans at the track soon and thank you for your support during the difficult times," Leclerc continued. He also reveals he is happy with his new teammate. "Carlos [Sainz] is a hard worker and I am convinced that together we will get the team back to the top."

Proud Ferrari driver

Despite the difficult times, Ferrari are currently going through, Leclerc is still very happy to be under contract with the Italians. "It's a pride to be a Ferrari driver. This is a family. Especially in Italy, you can feel the passion of the people, it's almost a religion. You feel you are part of this family."

Stop the suffering

When asked about his expectations for 2021, Leclerc was cautiously positive. "We know there is a lot of work to do and there are many positive things in this car, but the answers will come from the track. I am happy if we have improved compared to 2020. Hopefully, the suffering will stop."
