Perez expected to be confirmed as Red Bull driver on Friday

It's starting to look more and more like Sergio Perez is going to be Max Verstappen's new teammate. Red Bull Racing is expected to announce this on Friday.

It had been around for a while, but the battle for the final Formula 1 seat seemed to be between Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez. After the impressive victory of the latter, it was even more likely that the choice fell on him.

Several hints have already been spotted on social media. For example, Perez' brother showed a Red Bull refrigerator, and his father posted a picture of a can of Red Bull on Twitter.

Now there is one more source who says for sure that Perez will be announced as a driver at Red Bull Racing tomorrow. The usually reliable source Speedweek.com reports that they know from their own research that the Mexican has signed a contract with the team. Alexander Albon would stay on as a test driver.

Update: Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf also reports that the arrival of Perez at Red Bull is now certain. Red Bull Racing is expected to make the official announcement on Friday during the course of the day.
