Lewis Hamilton reacted on Twitter to the news of his positive test. Because of this, he will not be able to race at the Sakhir Grand Prix this weekend.

Hamilton woke up Monday morning after the race with mild symptoms of the virus. Shortly after he heard that one of his acquaintances, with whom he had recently had contact, had tested positive. He decided to get tested and this morning the result came back: positive. His team Mercedes will now have to look hard for a replacement for him.

The Brit writes on Twitter that he is having a very hard time not being able to participate this weekend. He and his team have been constantly monitoring all the measures and paying close attention. He says he woke up on Monday with mild symptoms and immediately requested another test, which came back positive.

He also says he is happy to have only mild symptoms of the virus. He will do his best to stay fit and healthy. He also has a message for his followers: watch out for yourself and others. "You can never be too careful. These are frightening times for everyone and we have to make sure that everyone is looked after. Stay positive."
