Albon confused: "I thought we could win"

Just like Max Verstappen, Alexander Albon also had a troublesome race for Red Bull Racing at the Istanbul Park circuit. For a moment it looked like he could go to get a podium, potentially a win, but a spin and a second pit stop threw a spanner in the works.

"I have mixed feelings about this," Albon told Sky Sports afterwards. "I am a bit confused by this race. In the beginning, our starts were very bad, but after that we had a lot of grip and when we went into the pits for the intermediates we even had incredible grip. To be honest, I thought then that we could win."

“I had a little pirouette, but it still felt good afterwards. It is of course a long race and anything can happen. But when we put on another set of the same tires, there was just no grip and speed at all. So I scratch my head, it was a really unique weekend," said the British-Thai, who eventually finished seventh.
