Summary of the Thursday in Turkey: Red Bull explains

One day before the free practice sessions start in Istanbul, a lot has already happened around the Formula 1 circus, with Red Bull's press conference today as one main event. A number of organizational announcements were also made today. Here they are listed.

In a press conference this afternoon, Verstappen gave a preview of his GP-weekend. It is clear that the Dutchman can only fight for success during the day, as the championship already seems to have taken place. Verstappen identifies the lagging reliability of his car as one of the problems this season and responds to rumors about a new power source after 2021.

Verstappen has also been asked again about his use of the word "retard", as well as the fuss this seems to have caused worldwide. He says the following about this.

No winter test in Barcelona next year

It was also announced that the winter test days in Barcelona will be cancelled next season, in order to lighten the already full schedule of next season and bring some more excitement to the first few races.  

Brazilian GP to remain at Interlagos until 2025

It was also announced that the Brazilian Grand Prix will still be held at Interlagos for the next five years despite all the rumors. This puts an end to the discussion as to whether the race would be moved to Rio de Janeiro.
