A weekend for tyre whisperers: "One of the most important factors".

The weekend on the Nurburging provides a lot of anticipation just because of the weather forecast. Also at Ferrari they expect the cold weather and the possible rain to have a lot of influence on the weekend. Tyre management will play a key role

Behaviour of the tyres essential

Charles Leclerc usually gets the best out of the moderate Ferrari. He regularly reaches Q3 and on Sundays he always finishes a bit further ahead than one would expect from a Ferrari. The Monegask is looking forward to the weekend at Motorpsort.com, where they drive on a circuit that unexpectedly returned on the calendar: "At the start of the season I never expected to race at the Nürburgring. It is a circuit on which I have never raced behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car, but I am curious".

The question is how the tyres are going to hold up now that the temperature probably won't exceed 15 degrees, maybe not even 10 degrees: "One of the things we have to take into account is the weather. I remember from my previous races there that the clouds in the Eifel are always nearby. The environmental conditions can change from one moment to the next. The behaviour of the tyres will be one of the most important factors", said Leclerc.

Sebastian Vettel

For Vettel another battle in midfield is likely to await, although with predicted weather, anything can happen: "When you arrive in the Eifel in October, it is very likely that the temperature will be quite low, so it will be vital to make the tyres work properly. I predict, as we have been used to this season, that we will drive in the middle of the field", the German is realistic.
