Adrian Newey may be leaving for another team in Formula 1. It has been reported that he may join either Ferrari or Aston Martin. In the past, we have often seen important team members take their associates with them to other teams. Will the same happen with Newey? Max Verstappen tries to answer that question.

Adrian Newey may start working for another F1 team in early 2025. To any new team, he will take information from Red Bull, but this might not be the only thing he takes from his former employer. Other personnel may follow him to his next challenge.

Verstappen was asked in Miami ahead of the weekend whether he fears more employees will now close the door behind them in Milton Keynes. "Well, I mean, I cannot speak for everyone else at the moment. I think everyone is happy with their roles in the team. And who knows? Maybe with Adrian leaving, what it will do to the team."

The three-time world champion argues that there might also be a few positives. "It might not always seem negative and this is not something bad towards Adrian, but you see that in a lot of different companies or sports. Sometimes when somebody has been part of the team for a long time and then suddenly this person leaves, it is not always a negative thing. Maybe it promotes young talent. Of course, there will never be another Adrian, but that's also fine because it would be quite boring if everyone is like Adrian. So it's very important to appreciate what he has done for the team, but also for us now, it's very important to just work with the people that we have available and they are very good at what they do." Said Verstappen.

A new milestone for Verstappen?

Meanwhile, the next three days will be "Just racing in Miami". If Verstappen manages to win the race, he will celebrate a special milestone: His third win in a row in Miami, which would also mean his seventh consecutive win in the United States. Since he won the US Grand Prix in 2021 at the Circuit of The Americas in Austin, he is unbeaten in the US.

This would further extend Verstappen's lead over the competition in the world championship. Currently, Sergio Perez is the closest rival with 25 points less than Verstappen.
