Red Bull demands clarification after second FIA debacle: 'Cost us twenty million'.

Red Bull Racing is demanding clarification from the FIA about the penalty they handed out to Racing Point. Racing Point made a copy of the 2019 Mercedes car and was punished, but was allowed to continue the season with the same car. Helmut Marko says the FIA has made it easy on themselves and demands clarification after yet another debacle.

RP20 illegal or not?

Racing Point was found guilty of illegally copying the brakeducts of the 2019 Mercedes. The entire RP20 is a copy of this car and is therefore jokingly called the pink Mercedes. After the penalty of several championship points and a hefty fine, the team is allowed to finish the season with the current 'illegal' car.

Almost all teams immediately filed a complaint about the penalty. Helmut Marko now asks the FIA for an explanation once again. The German Spiegel quotes the Red Bull advisor: "The FIA does not want to do too much damage to the teams. They have reached a compromise by which they have avoided the real question: 'Is the car legal or not?

FIA action on Ferrari cost Red Bull 20 million dollar

Marko brings up the issue of the illegality of the 2019 Ferrari. In this case, too, Marko is unhappy with the FIA's actions: "If the FIA had taken Ferrari's second place in 2019, we as Red Bull would have received 20 million dollar more in prize money".

According to Marko, the FIA was able to get away with the negligent investigation into Ferrari and the dubious pronouncement because of the corona virus and the fact that it started the season so late. One problem disappeared, as it were, through the other. Marko's conclusion is: 'Some have benefited from the corona crisis'.
