Valsecchi: "If he wins the first race, he'll probably be champion"

A lot is expected of Max Verstappen next season. Davide Valsecchi also thinks the Dutchman will be able to win the title in 2020. He thinks there are two others besides Verstappen who can go for the title.

"Lewis Hamilton, Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen, I choose those three. We have waited so long, I expect great duels on the track", said Valsecchi to Corriere dello Sport.

"Verstappen is in my ideal team. He is special and his character is very tough. On and off the track he is ice cold. As far as I'm concerned Verstappen already won the title last year if we would only judge by form", Valsecchi says enthusiastically.

"Red Bull Racing believes in it this year with the first two Grands Prix on home ground. But make no mistake, they still have a small chance. Verstappen would be the youngest world champion ever", he continues.

A title for Verstappen isn't just an inside job, the Italian thinks. "If Hamilton takes the lead right away, we'll have a problem. If he wins the first race he will win the title as usual."
