Tost knows for sure: ''Mercedes stands for Red Bull Racing and Ferrari is third''

While Mercedes, as usual, prefers to shake off the favourites role, the competition is once again looking en masse at the Silver Arrows. Mercedes is the favourite for 2020, whether they like it or not.

''We start again where we left off and that's the winter tests in Barcelona. The picture we saw there, we can also expect in Austria and the picture was very clear there. Mercedes is ahead of Red Bull Racing and Ferrari is the third team," said Franz Tost in conversation with German Sky Sports.

''In the meantime there hasn't been a moment when the teams have been able to further develop the cars and we haven't been on the track. So the balance we've seen in Barcelona, we can expect again when we arrive in Austria'', says the team boss of AlphaTauri who is fighting with his team for a place in the middle spot.

''Racing Point seems to be in the lead, but behind it is crowded with McLaren, Renault, Alfa Romeo, Haas and hopefully us too. For the second race we have updates ready just like all the other teams, so we'll see what the new proportions are like again'', Tost concludes.
