Drivers are used to going fast, both inside and outside the car. Most of the year they fly all over the world. It will therefore be difficult for them to stay at home, waiting for them to get back into action. As a former F1 and IndyCar, Mark Blundell knows all too well how to deal with that.

As manager, Blundell manages the business of a range of international drivers today, including Gary Paffett and Mike Conway. However, it is the young talents in particular who now require guidance.

"You know how it is with drivers, they are very impatient," he says in conversation with RTL GP. "They want to know what's going on. What the calendars look like now, it is difficult to provide them with information at all. At the same time I also have to keep manufacturers and sponsors informed of the situation, so I'm still very busy".

Heavy season on the way

"Drivers are more on social media and their simulator. That seems to be the biggest leisure activity for a racing driver right now. The more experienced guys know that they have to stay fit and sharp before everything starts up again. You have to put a little more pressure on the younger guys."

Especially now a good preparation will be crucial according to him, because if there is still racing, it is going to be a very intense season. "If everything starts up again and I hope it will be soon, although we don't have permits in the UK at the moment until 30 June, this is going to be a fast and intense season. We will have to travel a lot in a short time".
