OFFICIAL: Le Mans 24 hours moved to September due to Coronavirus

The Le Mans 24 Hours will be moved to September 19 and 20 due to the worldwide outbreak of the Coronavirus. The race was originally scheduled to take place on the thirteenth and fourteenth of June but has been delayed in the hope that the crisis will be under control by then.

Given the current situation in France due to the Coronavirus, there was no way for the organization to hold a race in June.

The Le Mans 24 Hours is part of the World Endurance Championship that normally ends at Le Mans. The new season starts at the beginning of September and the weekend that the French have chosen is still available on the calendar. So it looks like the 2020/2021 season has already started while they are still finishing the 2019/2020 season at Le Mans at the end of September.

All in all, we are certainly happy that a new date has been chosen for this wonderful event so that we can also enjoy great motorsport in 2020.
