Charles Leclerc has been handed a 10-place grid penalty for the Brazilian Grand Prix. Ferrari have decided to change his engine in preparation for the 2020 F1 world championship. The man from Monaco can seal third place this weekend, but that's now more difficult.

Leclerc faces a challenge this weekend, but he understands the reasoning and can't wait for the final race of the 2019 F1 season.

"Obviously this weekend won't be easy for us with a 10-place grid penalty, but I think it's the best chance for us for the rest of the championship," Leclerc told the press in Brazil.

"I will try to limit the damage as much as possible this weekend and try to achieve the best result. I am also sure that we will see the benefits of a motor change in Abu Dhabi."

Leclerc is quite optimistic: "In general, I think it will be a plus. Whether in qualifying or in the race, I think it will look pretty much the same and that there will generally be a will be an advantage. I think there is more to be gained by changing the engine."
