Toro Rosso duo satisfied with first half of 2019: "Better than expected"

Toro Rosso will be pleased with their results so far this season. The team are currently 5th in the constructor's championship and considering they are a 'B team' this is very impressive. The two drivers have performed well and Alex Albon has impressed so much that he has been promoted to Red Bull. Overall, it's been a good season and they will want to keep it up after the summer break.

"If we look at the points, I think we didn't leave much there," said Daniil Kvyat. “In some races we have even taken much more points than expected. Good results if the car is not performing properly, that is always important. "

Albon was also surprised with some of the results from this season.

“We had the most problems in qualifying," he said. "Getting the tires in the work window, that didn't work. Only when it became cooler and we really saw the car awaken did we see how fast we actually were. In comparison with other teams, that was considerably better than expected."

“I am satisfied with the results, but I would like to get more points. We only got a bit worse here and there, so we didn't optimize all the results. In general, I am happy with the first half."

Toro Rosso will hope that Pierre Gasly can do the same job Albon has been doing and that they can start to challenge McLaren for the 'best of the rest' position.
