SportPesa Racing Point are not far removed from announcing its driver line-up for the 2020 season, according to team principal Otmar Szafnauer, as current drivers Sergio Pérez and Lance Stroll are expected to stay on board.

Stroll already has a contract for the 2020 season, as the young Canadian put pen to paper a multiple-year deal when signing on at Racing Point at the end of last year. The 20-year-old came over from Williams alongside his father Lawrence, who bought a majority stake when taking over Force India in the summer of 2018 before changing the team's name.

As for Pérez, negotiations for a new deal for 2020 are underway, according to Szafnauer.

"Nothing is done until it's done but we're well on our way," the Romanian born American Szafnauer told RaceFans.net.

"I think in due course, not that far into the future, we'll make the announcement."

Racing Point have scored 31 points in total so far this season, with Stroll bagging 18 to Pérez' 13. They sit eighth in the constructors' championship.
