The two Williams cars always seem to be at the back of the grid now, and the future of the British team doesn't look bright. In the 2017 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, a Williams car stepped on the podium. Two years later and even a miracle wouldn't produce that result.

Bernie Ecclestone is the lastest person to show concern towards Williams. The former boss of Formula 1 says their downward spiral will only continue.

“You now get the problem that all the technical staff present is hijacked away by Ferrari, Mercedes and Red Bull. That while they were at the level of Ferrari not so long ago. A very sad situation for Williams," Ecclestone said in France's AutoHebdo.

Ecclestone wanted to be part of the 1000th Formula 1 race but was unable to travel to China. He went on to explain why he was missing.

"Food poisoning a month ago. I didn't feel great and decided not to go. I watched from London. In addition, the visits to races are now very different. I want to get involved, but I know I can't do that. So I can only keep my mouth shut," he added.

The fact that Ecclestone is not very keen on that is evident from his statements about Liberty Media that he recently made. If it had been up to Ecclestone, he would have done everything possible to have the thousandth race take place at Silverstone.

"Why? Because the first race was also held there. I was even there! If the organization had said that they needed money for that, I would have wanted to arrange something, " says the billionaire. “It would have caused so many more visitors. I don't know if they realized that at Liberty."
