McLaren confirms start date for James Key

McLaren has announced that James Key will officially join the team as technical director on March 25th 2019.

The team had been embroiled in a dispute with Key's former team Toro Rosso over his contract with the team. McLaren confirmed in a statement that an agreement had been reached between both teams and that Key would be released from his current contract before its expiry.

McLaren had announced in 2018 that they had signed Key but negotiations between both parties were ongoing. His arrival to the British team is another signing in the restructuring of the running of the Formula One team as they seek to recover from a period of disappointment and underperformance.
