Francois Dumontier has played down any talk of ‘animosity’ between the Canadian Grand Prix and F1 owners Liberty Media.

Forbes had reported a dispute between Dumontier and Liberty Media because of the different spectator numbers that were official for the 2017 and 2018 Grand Prix in Montreal.

Many promoters like Dumontier himself had signed a letter to Liberty, disagreeing with the way that they have managed the sport since taking over.

But the Canada GP Promoter said to Journal de Montreal: "There is no animosity between F1 and its promoters.

"The discussions were frank, with everyone having their position."

These comments came after Formula One and FIA Officials that were owned by Liberty Media had visited the track to inspect the progress that had been made to improve it for this year.

"These people did not hide their satisfaction. They were impressed by the progress of the work despite the rigors of our climate,” Dumontier said.
