Without a seat in the first half of the 2023, Daniel Ricciardo missed out on driving around one of Formula One's most iconic tracks: Monaco. The street circuit has always been favourable for the Australian, who during his years at Red Bull achieved three podiums between 2016 and 2018, including a win in 2018. Now, the Visa Cash App driver has shared his excitement to be returning to the track.

Ricciardo has taken pole position twice in Monaco, and will be looking to bring that experience this weekend. Speaking to GPblog and others in the paddock, the Australian said: "The circuit rewards a bit of bravery and these things as well. But, like always, the driver can make the difference here. If you're connected with your car that allows you to make the difference."

"I had the opportunity to watch last year, and I could watch the onboard of, obviously Max's [Verstappen] last sector. You can just see the connection and the confidence and brushing the walls didn't faze him. In fact, he wanted to even brush them all down the straight."

'One of life's greatest experiences'

This year Ricciardo won't be a spectator. Instead, he is looking forward to driving around a track which has suited him well in the past. "The feeling of driving around here and having that opportunity to push the car to the limit is just, it's so awesomely scary, and beautifyl and insane and intense," said the VCARB driver.

"It's like one of life's greatest experiences. It's hard to match a feeling like that and really excited to get that, to get that opportunity again, that's the coolest thing."
