It was recently rumoured that Aston Martin had made a multi-million-dollar offer to Adrian Newey, Red Bull Racing's top designer. Aston Martin would like to acquire Newey. None of it true, Mike Krack explained to Sky Sports on the first day of racing before the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka.

Krack denies rumours Newey

When the Luxembourg team boss was asked if the rumours were true, Krack clearly (and laughingly) explained: "No. Look, we have a very good technical team with Dan [Fallows], Tom [McCullough] and Luca [Furbatto]. And recently Bob Bell has also come on board. We are very happy with what we have at the moment," added the Aston Martin man.

Newey was rumoured to have met with Aston Martin's Lawrence Stroll at a hotel in Saudi Arabia, possibly to discuss contracts. Indeed, it was previously revealed that Newey was on his way out of Red Bull Racing. GPblog asked Aston Martin for a comment at the time, but none was forthcoming.
