At the moment, there isn't a boring day in Formula 1. It seems like every day there are new rumours and stories coming out about various figures from the paddock. Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff is done with all the speculation and sees only one simple solution to this.

Normally, the winter break is a quiet period for Formula 1, when little exciting news comes out. This winter was different and it seemed that silly season came early. In fact, it all started with the rumour that Lewis Hamilton would leave for Ferrari in 2025. This rumour was confirmed the same evening by both Mercedes and Ferrari.

Shortly afterwards, the whole Red Bull saga surrounding Christian Horner began. After a long internal investigation, things seemed to calm down, but the unrest flared up again when Jos Verstappen got involved. Then Helmut Marko's position came into question which also made Max Verstappen's future at the Austrian racing stable suddenly seem uncertain.

More transparency is needed in Formula 1

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff was asked after the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix about his thoughts surrounding all the drama currently taking place in Formula 1. The Austrian thinks that in the times we live in now, different solutions are needed for such issues and actually this is quite simple, namely: more transparency. ''I think what's happening at the moment in the sport in this various situation is always the main. We don't know exactly what happened, but the negative criticism we get is for the lack of transparency.'' If there is more transparency it could save a lot of problems, the 52-year-old thinks. ''And I think this is what we need to understand that we are living in a world that expects transparency and understanding. And in some cases that would just solve the situation. Even if there is, if rumours prove to be not true and we should as a sport thrive to do this, we'll see what the outcomes are.''
