Why doesn't Toto Wolff have an Instagram? He explains it himself!

You either love him or you don't. There is almost no in-between. In Formula 1, Toto Wolff is someone who can evoke very different emotions in people. The Mercedes team boss is well aware of this himself, he says during an interview on his team's YouTube channel. The Austrian has no intention of changing.

Wolff stares at his screen during a Grand Prix. As soon as the Austrian is not happy with what he is watching, he shows it clearly. "The standard I try to live to professionally and in my personal life is being authentic. Sometimes that comes across emotionally, or negative. But I don't want to change my face just because I'm speaking to the media. That's how I am," Wolff said.

Toto Wolff knows himself

The whole world seems to post their lives on social media these days. Unlike his wife Susie, Toto Wolff does not. And that is for a reason: "Having official Instagram channels, or Twitter, would be super distracting for me. I'm also an emotional person so that would not be beneficial if I were to post things."

As the face of a Formula 1 team, Wolff thinks there is also little point in having his own account on Instagram, for example: "I am not keen on taking selfies of myself or posing for the camera. Sports people, entertainment stars need to do that because it's their profile. But these channels are nothing for me."
