Red Bull driver and Mexico Grand Prix winner Max Verstappen believes that any top driver could have won the 2018 world championship in Lewis Hamilton's car.

Sunday saw Verstappen offer Hamilton a massive helping hand; with Sebastian Vettel needing to win - but the Red Bull driver dominated from start to finish and Hamilton claimed his fifth world championship title.

Verstappen was asked by Blick about what made Lewis so good in 2018, and replied: "His car! Of course he's extremely good. But Vettel could win with his car. Ricciardo could win with his car. I could win with his car."

Red Bull are switching their power unit next season from Renault to Honda in a bid to try and compete consistently with Mercedes and Ferrari, but Verstappen believes that 2021 will be a better chance for his team.

"Then I will be 23 (2021). And I will still have six, seven years to win world titles," the 21-year-old added. "Hopefully the I will be a four-time world champion! That would be great."

Verstappen's boss Dr. Helmut Marko believes that Red Bull could challenge for a title with the Honda power unit in their first season partnered with the Japanese manufacturer.

However, Verstappen himself does not think that's possible; claiming they'd need a "magical chassis".
