Max Verstappen believes that Friday's two practice sessions were "difficult" for his Red Bull team in the wet conditions in Austin, Texas.

Verstappen managed third place in both of Friday's free practice sessions, but was more than a second off leader Lewis Hamilton both times.

The rain poured down in Texas, which led to a few problems for the teams.

The Dutchman thinks it is too difficult to predict the order now because "you do not know how good the tyres are from the rest".

Verstappen, who is never hesitant to voice his opinion, was "not happy" with the way Pirelli handled the opening two free practice sessions in America.

Max was asked about his predictions for the qualifying session that takes place later today, but the Red Bull driver was reluctant to share his thoughts.

"We have not driven on a dry track yet (so it's harder to predict)," Verstappen explained to Ziggo Sport.

Verstappen believes the speed of his RB14 wasn't quite what it should have been on Friday and acknowledges that there is "work to be done".

"We have already tried some things, maybe that's why the speed was not quite right," Verstappen said. "So if it keeps raining, there is still some more work to be done."
