It was not a good weekend in England for Ferrari. The Italian stable finished with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz at P9 and P10. Team boss Frederic Vasseur is sounding the alarm and says it all needs to be a lot better. Vasseur also talks about the McLaren's of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri who did surprisingly well.

"They were strong all over the weekend, with all the compounds, but it was already the case last week. I think they were P3 in terms of performance between the leaders at Spielberg, and probably also that the layout of the track is fitting more with the McLaren than for us. But each weekend will be a different one, and we'll have to do a better job than today," Vasseur concluded.

Ferrari is fourth in the constructors' championship. McLaren is currently just under 100 points behind, but seems to be a lot better on track than the red bolides. Vasseur says it is all very close.

"But it's so tight between P2 and P9 that on some sessions you have one or two tenths between six cars. It means that if the layout of the track is fitting with your car, or if you have a good setup for the weekend, or you have a clean weekend with no technical issues, if you are getting one tenth, it's a huge step in terms of production for the complete weekend. And I think where we fell today, we could have done a better job.," Vasseur told reporters after the race.
