Ferrari team principal Maurizio Arrivabene still holds out hope for a world championship, despite another big blow in their confidence, as Lewis Hamilton took the win in Singapore.

That same Hamilton now holds a 40-point lead over Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel, a gap that seems almost impossible to bridge in just six races. Well it isn't, but with Hamilton's relentless consistency and ability to just always finish a race and never make mistakes, it kind of is.

Yet, there is still hope in Maranello. Arrivabene realizes that the result in Singapore was far from optimal, as Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen finished third and fifth respectively, but he'll keep fighting until the end.

"Today’s winner deserved the victory,” Arrivabene was quoted by CheckeredFlag.

“After Sebastian overtook Verstappen, we went for an aggressive strategy, trying for the undercut on the Ultrasoft tyres.

“Unfortunately, during the one lap that would prove to be crucial, we found ourselves behind another car and so we were unable to run at a fast enough pace.

“Despite today’s result, not all is lost.

"Now, calmly and with determination, we will tackle the remaining six races, fighting all the way to the end.”

Next up, in two weeks time, is Russia, where Sochi will host the Grand Prix. Ferrari will absolutely have to dominate that weekend if they want to win any championship. Every race is a final, from now on.
