The FIA are keeping a close eye on potential team alliances within Formula One...

Haas have a very close relationship with Ferrari nowadays and the rival teams in Formula One have been very critical of this.

The VF18 (Haas' car) has the maximum amount of parts that a team is allowed from another team, of Ferrari's.

This problem of close alliances within F1 became even more evident when Force India had to go into administration.

Teams had to sign a document for Force India to continue in F1, but McLaren, Renault and Williams all refused to sign the document unless they stopped becoming a B-team to Mercedes.

Whiting reveals that the FIA are monitoring the situation.

"It's something that we should be concerned about, and it's something we will be discussing," Whiting said. "The (Haas/Ferrari) relationship started it.

"We knew exactly how that was possible in the beginning, and there was a loophole in the beginning which has been closed to new entrants, which is what (Haas) were able to do, a lot more work than a current team, before they were established as a proper entrant.

"But the sort of things we're hearing about are alliances between existing teams. I think that needs to be looked at very carefully."
